War museum

Here is a concept art I did for a SOI contest. I really hope I had more time to work on it.
Inspired by...random sketches.

Project Hiroshi Hawakawa - 2nd post

This week, I went through Darren and Daniel's works and picked ones I like to use for my palette.

Many of Daniel's concept sketches have such limited range of colors and I wonder how this would turn out in my artwork.

As I picked my palettes, I thought that using real life reference could be also helpful to grasp the colors that make the vehicle more believable. I was already thinking about making a sports car type of vehicle so I picked my colors from Ferrari F1 racing car, which is a big icon.

Another real life reference

Project Hiroshi Hayakawa - 1st post Initial Sketches

Initial sketches for manegeries.

I was very inspired by Darren's vehicle designs and I started with making some quick sketches of futuristic cars/cargo-ships. As I made more sketches, I came up with some ideas for the environment to put them too.

There are class variations for the vehicle, just like there a difference between Sedan and SUV.

Project Hiroshi Hayakawa - Inspirational artists

To start with my menagerie, I picked several concept artists I like, such as Darren Quach and Daniel Lopez Munoz. Darren is a professional artist who worked in game industries for years and he participated in major games like Ratchet and Resistance franchise,

I am a big fan of his vehicle designs. The simple shapes of the exterior and mechanical details fit together nicely.

Even though these two artworks are from a different game and has a lot more mechanical details into them, they still have Darren's style of using big chunks of shapes.

Not only he is a concept artist for vehicles, but he also worked on many environment designs. I particulary like his futuristic cityscape. Looking at it makes me want to go down there and explore that environment.

Daniel is a illustrator and concept artist who is working in Pixar. He worked on films such as Robots.

apparently there my computer is messing with uploading files,(maybe there are too many images?). I think I will come back and  post more of Daniels work later. Here is Daniel's blog
